The Meghalaya government announced a slew of relaxations from May 4th, 2020, including partially lifting the curfew.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that curfew will be lifted in Shillong agglomeration with effect from May 4th, 2020.
However, night curfew as prescribed by the Ministry of Home Affairs will be imposed from 7 pm to 7 am in the State.
Public and religious gatherings will continue to remain prohibited to contain the spread of the COVID-19 in the state.
Tynsong said that in situ construction, where workers are available on site and no workers are required to be brought in from outside, in all urban areas including Shillong Agglomeration and hardware and electrical Stores will also be allowed to open in Shillong Agglomeration from May 4th, 2020.
“Opening of hardware stores, electrical stores and construction and quarrying activities, previously excluded in Mylliem block will now be allowed,” he said.
Government offices to function with 33 per cent capacity for Staff (Group C and D) and 100 per cent for Officers (Group A and B).
“Rosters will be notified and dos and don’ts will be issued accordingly,” he added.
All wine shops are also allowed to reopen from May 4th, 2020.
