    Meghalaya: COVID vaccination drive for 18+ to start from May 14

    Meghalaya sees the highest single-day recovery with 314 recoveries on Wednesday

    Guwahati: After Assam, neighbouring state Meghalaya to begin its vaccination drive for the age group 18-44 years from May 14 onwards.

    Informing about the update, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said took to Twitter saying, “The #vaccination for citizens between 18-44 years of age will begin from 14th May, 2021 in #Meghalaya. Please visit http://cowin.gov.in to register and book your slot for 14th, 15th & 16th May, 2021. Request everyone to register and get #vaccinated @drharshvardhan.”

    It is to be noted that Meghalaya sees the highest single-day recovery with 314 recoveries on Wednesday.

    The state also records 406 new positive cases on Wednesday.

    Eight more COVID patients succumbed to the infections, taking a total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection to 250.

    The Health authorities informed that the total Covid active cases in the state are now 3,381 and 17,354 have recovered from the virus.

    Meanwhile, the backup mechanism for the bed capacity is also set at IIM, Shillong with 300 beds (100 equipped with oxygen concentrators) and at Umsawli with 100 beds (40 beds equipped with oxygen concentrators), informed CM Sangma in another tweet.
