Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) president, Richard Mrong Marak took a jibe on Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and said that Meghalaya needs a majboot sarkar (strong government) not a majboor sarkar (helpless government).

“The National People’s Party president and Chief Minister Sangma himself is a spineless, gutless agent of the BJP. In his greed for power, he will do anything for his masters. The party which claims to be a representative of the indigenous people of the state is why not protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill,” he said.

“To save his face, he took a delegation to New Delhi to meet the Prime Minister regarding the Citizenship Bill. He has failed in fact and does not have photographic evidence of the meeting to share with us,” he said.

He further went on to say that the North East Democratic Alliance should be renamed as the North-East Dangerous Alliance because the “regional parties are being used by the Bharatiya Janata Party”.
