Meghalaya police urge citizens to avoid journey during HM Amit Shah’s visit
Guwahati: Ahead of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s two-day visit in Shillong and Sohra, the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills urged before the general public, citizens of Shillong and adjoining areas to avoid journey in and around Shillong city unless required or on emergency purposes.
The decision was taken in order to maintain safe and smooth passage of the VVIP, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his two-day visit to Meghalaya.
Home Minister will be visiting Shillong and Sohra on July 24 and 25 respectively.
The East Khasi Hill District marked four places as No-entry zones for July 24 and 25 till the departure of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also hold a meeting of all chief ministers, chief secretaries and DGPs of Northeastern states on July 24 during which he is expected to take stock of the law and order and COVID-19 situation in the region.
The home minister will also inaugurate a cryogenic oxygen plant, visit the headquarters of the Assam Rifles in Shillong and attend an event in Guwahati.
