Meghalaya woman cop among 4 Indian referees on FIFA’s international list

Riiohlang Dhar has qualified to be among four women from the country selected to officiate in FIFA international matches.

Guwahati: Meghalaya’s woman cop Riiohlang Dhar has been selected in the elite list of FIFA International Referee from India.

Dhar who is a resident of Jowai in Meghalaya is one amongst 18 referees named in the 2019 FIFA Refereeing International lists.

Out of 18, Dhar has qualified to be among four women from the country selected to officiate in FIFA international matches.

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma took Twitter to congratulate Dhar on her achievement. He wrote: “Big congratulations to WC Riiohlang Dhar, 1st MLP, for qualifying as a #FIFA International Referee. She is among 4 #women selected from India. Wishing her good lock and many more success! @KirenRijiju @IndiaSports @IndianFootball @MeghalayaPolice”

Riiohlang Dhar is the first woman FIFA referee from Meghalaya.

Meanwhile, Ranjita Devi Tekcham from Manipur has also been qualified as FIFA International Referees.
