Software giant company Microsoft India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sikkim government to revamp the education system of the state and also leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud to enable citizen services on January 31, 2019.
Under the MoU, the software company will be reforming government schools of the state using their Innovative School Programme and will integrate Microsoft’s IT content and courseware in the state board curriculum for students from class 6 to class 10.
Manish Prakash, General Manager of Public Sector, Microsoft India said, “E-governance is the best way to get the benefits of technology to all the residents of Northeast India.”
The company also plans to build teacher capacity through its Educator Network and Innovative Educator Network by training 100 trainers nominated by the government and enhance digital literacy and digital citizenship by training a batch of 20 District Education Officers (DEO) and Principals of government schools nominated by the government.
