Milk gets costlier with price of Rs 3 per litre in Assam
Guwahati: Along with fuel, oil price, residents of Assam is now bearing the burnt of the rising milk products as milk will get costlier by Rs3 per litre from Friday.
With the increase in milk process announced by the Guwahati Milkmen’s Association, the new prices would be Rs 54 for wholesale and Rs 56 for retail.
Earlier, the wholesale rate of milk was Rs 51 per liter and retail price was Rs 53.
On July 1, the Greater Guwahati Dairy Farmers’ Association had hiked the price of milk.
Meanwhile, leading milk supplier Mother Dairy has increased milk prices in Delhi-NCR along with other prominent cities like Guwahati by Rs 2 per litre with effect from July 11 due to higher input costs.
Due to the non-availability of quality local milk products and also due to the span of life nowadays it’s a common practice for the people of India to start believing in package milk products but with the rise in price and the pandemic on top of it, the cost of milk has put an additional cost to a family’s budget.
