Shillong, January 8: Stand-up comic artist Abhineet Mishra, a native of Meghalaya, rebuked the Conrad K Sangma-led state government for its lackadaisical attitude in handling the mine tragedy.

In a video uploaded on the YouTube, Mishra takes a jibe at the concerned authorities and the government for its apathetic approach in rescuing 15 miners trapped in an illegal coal pit in East Jayantia Hills since December 13,2018

The Meghalaya youth, in his six-minute long video clip, highlighted the lack of coverage of the Northeastern region by the mainstream media.

Mishra says, “Our nation and our media is fascinated with other things — why did Rahul Gandhi wink at Modi? Why did Rahul Gandhi hug Modi?.”

He further said, “What gets ignored is the Northeast.”

The video was published in his own YouTube channel on January 6 last.

The disclaimer stated that the act is “not comedy” and the fact that it’s not been performed, as is the norm for most comic sets, in front of a live audience.
