Guwahati: The Kamrup Police on Friday arrested the accused doctor who was involved in a road rash at Baihata Chariali in which two siblings were killed.
The accused identified as one Nagen Hazuri, a doctor, was arrested from the city after he remained underground to avoid police action.
Earlier on January 17, two siblings were after they were hit by a speeding car allegedly driven by Hazuri at Kendukona in Kamrup district. It was suspected that the accused was drunk while killing the duo.
He was reportedly on his way to Nalbari side from the city. The accused doctor was currently undergoing a police quizzing.
Two siblings-Gayatri Das (14) and Abinash Das (10) were killed in the tragedy. Two others also sustained serious injuries in the accident.
