MNF dismisses Amit Shah’s claim of BJP ruling for 50 years

Aizawl, December 7: Former Chief Minister and Mizo National Front(MNF) chief Zoramthanga dismissing Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) Supremo Amit Shah’s prediction of the saffron party ruling the country for the next 50 years said that it is “mere exaggeration” and that the latter is not god.

““He (Amit Shah) is not a god. He cannot predict that in politics. This is his wishful thinking. Nobody can predict that,” Zoramthanga said, when asked about Shah’s claim of the BJP ruling for the next 50 years as quoted by PTI.

In September, Shah at the BJP’s national executive meet has said that the party would win the 2019 elections due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hard work and that no one can dethrone it for the next 50 years.

The MNF chief further said that his party can never be allies with the BJP because of the saffron party’s Hindutva politics and the difference in the ideology.

“We are Christians and the BJP wants to promote Hindutva. We cannot be together as we have a different ideology. But as far as the country is concerned, the NDA is better than the UPA and that is why we joined them at the Centre,” Zoramthanga added as quoted by the PTI.

It may be mentioned that Mizoram went to polls on November 28 and the counting of votes will be taken up on December 11.
