The mobile-internet services, which were suspended on December 11th, 2019 following the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests, may be restored ahead of the press conference of the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on December 20th, 2019 morning.

The Gauhati High Court, after hearing petitions against the ban on internet services, on December 19th, 2019, had directed the government to restore the mobile-internet services in the state by 5 PM today.

The government held a high-level meeting with the concerned officials regarding resume of mobile interne services in the state today evening. However, the decisions of the meeting were not revealed.

However, the broadband internet services were restored on December 17th, 2019 in the state.
