Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who embarked upon a two-day Northeast visit, shared mesmerizing photographs of the region on the photo and video-sharing social networking platform Instagram on February 9th, 2019.

Ahead of beginning his Northeast trip to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura had asked the Instagram users to share their photographs of the spectacular natural beauty of the region. He asked the people to use the hashtag, #MagnificentNortheast, while sharing the images. Modi said that the beauty of the Northeast is spectacular.

The amazing photographs which captured the spectacular natural beauty of the region were shared by Modi in the Story of his Instagram account.

Black Flags greet Modi

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Guwahati to a black flag welcome on February 8th, 2019, despite the security bandobast across the city. The Prime Minister was first greeted with black flag protests at Jalukbari by the students of the Gauhati University on his way to the Raj Bhawan.

The protesters dotted the entire route shouting anti-Modi slogan and waving black flags as the police disperse the crowd. Chaotic situation prevailed at Uzan Bazar on February 8th, 2019 infront of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) office. The AASU activists also raised black flags as the PM’s cavalcade passed in front of the organisation’s office at Uzan Bazar, Guwahati.

PM Modi, who stayed at the Raj Bhawan after landing in Guwahati, left for Arunachal Pradesh on February 9th, 2019.  The Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate, lay foundation stones of various developmental projects and address rallies in the State.
