    Moran Man Strangles Wife To Death Over Suspected Affair

    A case has been registered against the accused with the Moran police

    Suspecting that his wife was having an extramarital affair, a man strangled his wife to death in Assam’s Dibrugarh district on November 23rd, 2019.

    The incident took place in Deodhai Bangali village under the Moran police station in Dibrugarh district. The accused, who has been identified as 37-year-old Deepak Majhi, was later arrested by the Moran police.

    The accused alleged that his wife was having an extramarital affair with a man of three children of the same area for the last three years.

    “She was having an extramarital affair with a man residing near our residence since 2017. I caught her red-handed several times. I tried to make her understand that it was not good. But, she did not understand,” the accused told the media.

    A case (No 314/ 2019) under section 302 (Punishment for murder) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered with the Moran police against the accused.

    Police sent the body for post mortem and started an investigation into the case.
