Guwahati: MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan has been suspended from the Rajya Sabha for a week. The MP was suspended on Thursday for protesting with placards in his hands.
The MP was protesting demanding a permanent solution to the flood problem and implementation of the clause 6 committee report.
The MP himself took to his official Twitter handle saying that he had been suspended for the next week.
“I am being suspended from Rajya Sabha for this week for asking these two pertinent questions to PM with a placard today. 1) Don’t give lollipops in the name of flood relief in Assam. 2) Where is Constitutional protection for Assamese people?” MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan tweeted.
