    Murder in city in broad daylight, Five arrested

    Guwahati: A 26 year old youth identified as Rituparna Pegu, a resident Commerce College area of the city, was killed in the city’s Noonmati area on Friday.

    The incident occurred in broad day light and was recorded on CCTV. Pegu had engaged in an heated argument with the prime accused in the case Hussain Ali after which the latter allegedly stabbed him.

    According to police Ali, allegedly stabbed him in the back with a sharp object, following which Pegu died. Although Pegu was immediately rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

    The incident was captured in the CCTV of the shop in front of which the incident took place

    Eye witnesses claimed the duo confronted with each other over a ‘
    furniture tool.

    “They fought over a tool. After the argument started, Ali brought his family members that led to a scuffle. Then Ali stabbed Pegu in his back with a knife”, said Arman Ali, the owner of the shop where the argument took place.

    Guwahati Police have arrested five persons including Ali in connection to the case.
