    Murder in Kokrajhar: Women found killed near NH 31

    The deceased’s family members informed that she had come out for work on Wednesday morning and did not return home

    GUWAHATI: Tension gripped in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday after locals recovered the body of a woman identified as Pramila Narzary besides the National Highway 31 in the district’s Bismuri area.

    An employee of the state’s sericulture department, Narzary’s body had several injury marks. Police said they have also recovered a sharp weapon, believed to be a machete, from the spot.

    “After locals informed the police about the incident, our men rushed to the spot. She was missing since Wednesday,” Police said.

    The deceased’s family members informed that she had come out for work on Wednesday morning and did not return home. “In the morning, we saw some social media posts and identified her. We want justice,” the victim’s family said.

    They said that she used to travel from Serfanguri area of the district to her office regularly.
