Guwahati-based hip-hop fusion band ‘Rain in Sahara’, recently released their second single track on their YouTube Channel named You Think Our Future Is a Joke(YTOFIAJ). The 5:34 minute song holds special significance against the horrors of climate change and aims at spreading awareness on ecological emergency.
The band feels that every person has a responsibility towards the planet to tackle this global issue so that a sustainable future can be created for everybody to dwell in harmony with nature.
They use the power of music to strike a chord with the conscious minds and create an awakening among the people about the consequences of climate change with the right symphony.
With Rain Jong in the vocals, Pawan Damai in the guitars, Rajat Bangia at the bass and Majid aka Rui Xing as the drummer and Lain Heringman as the producer/rapper, the fantastic five started their band way back in 2016 as an experimental project and grew into a full-fledged band in 2018.
Driven by a desire to spread positive conscious music with a message along with the principles of social justice, equality, freedom and respect Rain in Sahara fuses a wide range of elements and instrumentation into their hip-hop sound from numerous genres such as electronica, rock, Latin music and even Indian and western classical music.
The band uses individual struggles and experiences to write their music and says that amid the widespread devastation of earth’s climatic change people are raising their voices to tackle the biggest challenge.
Shot in an Indian Death Well (Mauta Ka Kua), YTOFIAJ is inspired by energy, enthusiasm, and positivity in the face of species extinction.
