Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to retain N Biren Singh as the chief minister of Manipur, sources revealed today after a series of meetings at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence was held to discuss the leadership issues.
Earlier today, N Biren Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi.
“Met Shri @NBirenSingh Ji and congratulated him on @BJP4Manipur’s stupendous victory in the recently concluded Assembly Polls. Our Party is committed to working even harder to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Manipur,” tweeted PM Modi.

He will also be meeting Union home minister Amit Shah later in the evening.
However, no official confirmation had been made by the BJP at the time of filing this report.
The BJP central leadership has appointed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju as the party’s observer and co-observer respectively for Manipur. The duo would arrive in Manipur capital Imphal on Wednesday.
In Manipur, the BJP got the majority on its own for the first time. Singh served as the Chief Minister of Manipur from 2017 to 2022.
