Nagaland Governor Gets Additional Charge of Manipur

Guwahati, June  25, 2019

The Nagaland Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya has been given additional charge of Manipur in absence of Najma Heptulla on June 25th, 2019.

”The President of India is pleased to appoint Padmanabha Balkrishna Acharya, Governor of Nagaland to discharge the functions of the Governor of Manipur, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Dr Najma A Heptulla, Governor of Manipur,” a Rashtrapati Bhawan communiqué stated.

Acharya has been the Governor of Nagaland since July 19th, 2014, while Heptulla was appointed as Governor of Manipur in August 2016.

He was also in an additional charge as governor of Arunachal Pradesh for a period of January 28th, 2017 –October 3rd, 2017.
