Kohima, November 30: The much awaited Hornbill festival will kick start in Naga Heritage Village located in Kisama from Saturday.
The 18th edition of the Hornbill Festival, 2018 will see celebration of the traditional values of Nagaland’s 16 tribes and will witness basking in a carnival like festival.
The State Tourism and Arts and Culture departments of Nagaland who is all set to host the Hornbill Festival from December 1 to 10, has a variety of competitions and events for its visitors to keep them entertained.
The popular events include the Miss Nagaland beauty pageant, craft and food expos, the Naga chilli eating competition and so on.
Apart from this they also hold a photo fest in Kohima, heritage walks in Kisama, shooting competitions, meet up for budding writers.
Usually the festival was celebrated for seven days and was primarily held in the heritage village of Kisama, but due to its popularity the festival has been increased to three more days with some added events spilled out to Nagaland’s capital Kohima and the Agri Expo in Dimapur.
