NCC trained 50,000 students in Assam: Maj Gen Ananta Bhuyan

Guwahati: The NCC has 50,000 trained students in Assam and they are fully capable to play a positive role in nation building, said Additional Director General (ADG) of NCC North Eastern Region, Major General Ananta Bhuyan.

The general officer shared the information with the Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal during his meeting with the CM on Tuesday.

The minister of Defence stated in the Tweet.

Bhuyan also said that the NCC has enrolled 800 students from Majuli this year.

The Assam chief minister complimented the Sainik School authorities and NCC for 22 cadets of Sainik School Goalpara passing the UPSC examination for National Defence Academy (NDA) at Khadakwasla.

Speaking about the low entry of Army officers from Assam in Indian armed Forces, Brig (retired) Ranjit Borthakur apprised the CM about the need of a coaching institute at Guwahati where not only Indian Army aspirants but also aspirants of paramilitary forces, IPS and IAS can be trained.
