    Assam Govt Hikes Dearness Allowance By 5% For Employees & Pensioners

    The new Land Policy was passed by the Cabinet which provides three bigha land for agriculture purposes

    The Assam government raised dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) by 5 per cent in a move that will benefit lakhs of government employees and pensioners. With this hike, the State government employees and pensioners will be entitled to 17 per cent DA and DR in all.

    The hike is based on the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission and will be effective from July, this year.

    It may be mentioned, the Assam cabinet on October 21st, 2019 approved Two Child norms and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act norms for entry and continuation in government service. The Cabinet also extended Atal Amrit Abhiyan to cover ICU packages, Trauma, Critical Care Paediatrics & Paediatric Surgery, Bone Marrow Transplantation, JE and AES.

    The new Land Policy was passed by the Cabinet which provides three bigha land for agriculture purposes and half bigha land for homestead purposes to indigenous landless families. Rs 50,000 will also be provided to landless persons listed as PMAY beneficiary.

    The Cabinet also approved 50 per cent subsidy for investments in piggery, poultry, livestock, dairy and meat processing industries.
