    BBCI Declared Containment Zone After 16-Year-Old Girl Tests COVID-19 Positive After Death

    Except for emergency services, all services at the BCCI will remain suspended till May 10

    The Dr B Borooah Cancer Institue (BBCI) in Birubari area of Guwahati has been declared as containment zone and cordoned off till May 10th, 2020.

    No entry or exit is allowed from the containment zone till further orders.

    The preventive measure was taken after a 16-year-old girl tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) after her death at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

    She died on May 6th, 2020 and her results came one May 7th, 2020.

    The girl along with her mother, aunt and grandmother was staying in the BBCI campus’s Harijan Colony.

    The girl’s grandmother works as a cleaner at the BBCI.

    All the family members of the girl have been put under quarantine.

    The girl was suffering from fever and went for check-up at the ESIC Hospital.

    The doctors took her swab sample after she started vomiting.
