Chill in air as temperatures dip over NE states

Guwahati, November 9: The atmospheric temperatures in the Northeast have started to dip which indicates the arrival of the winter season. The night temperatures have fallen  in Assam, Manipur and Tripura.

Though weather is most likely to remain dry over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 24 hours, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur in the morning hours at isolated areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, as per the weather forecast by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).

Guwahati recorded a minimum temperature of 15 degree Celsius on Thursday. Silchar also recorded a fall in its minimum temperature by 3 degree Celsius. From November 9-15, Guwahati will experience fog/mist in the morning and partly cloudy sky later in the day.

Imphal on Thursday recorded a minimum temperature of 9.7 degree Celsius, which was 2.3 degree Celsius below its normal for the period. The night temperatures in west Assam and Meghalaya will also fall by one to two degree Celsius during the period.
