Dokmoka mob lynching case | Nagaon Court to hear framing of charges on Dec 1

Nagaon, November 8: The Nagaon District and Sessions Court will hear the framing of charges against the 47 accused in the sensational Dokmoka mob lynching incident on December 1 next.

Two Guwahati boys – Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath – were lynched by a mob in Karbi Anglong on June 8 on the suspicion of being child-lifters. The incident took place near Panjuri Kachari under Dokmoka Police Station.

The charge-sheet contained 844 pages of charges against the accused along with 104-page case diary. It was filed on September 1. The charge-sheet mentioned as many as 71 witnesses. The charges have been framed under Sections 302, 341, 142, 427, 143/144(I), 147 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused were produced at the court on Thursday.
