Guwahati: In a major reshuffle of its top decision-making body, the BJP included six new faces in the Central Parliamentary Board on Wednesday.

Former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has been included in the Parliamentary Board, the party’s highest decision-making body.

Along with Sonowal, former minister of Karnataka  BS Yediyurappa, K Laxman, Sudha Yadav, Satyanarayan Jatiya and Iqbal Singh Lalpura were also included on the board while former BJP national president Nitin Gadkari and senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have been left out of the panel.

 Meanwhile, the BJP has also announced the names of 15 members of the Central Election Committee.

BJP National President JP Nadda has formed the party’s Central Election Committee, General Secretary Arun Singh said in a statement.

The members of the committee are JP Nadda (Head), Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, BS Yeddyurappa, Sarbananda Sonowal, K Laxman, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Sudha Yadav, Satyanarayan Jatiya, Bhupendra Yadav, Devendra Fadnavis, Om Mathur, BL Santosh (secretary) and Vanathi Srinivas (ex-officio).
