Clad in Khaki uniforms, a group of eight young women police personnel are seen in a video asserting that they are there to help us in any problem. Seeing the video one can make out that that they are here to rule and kick the problem in its face.
On September 20th, 2019, these young women from the Special Police Unit for North East Region (SPUNER) got together in restaurateur Karen Yepthomi’s Dzukou Tribal Kitchen located in New Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area for an informal lunch.

While savouring the authentic Northeastern cuisine that the restaurant delivers, these women in a video asked the people from Northeast to approach them if they face any sort of trouble in the capital. The video was uploaded by Karen on Facebook and the video has garnered a lot of positive response.

In the video, the women Delhi Police personnel were seen taking turns and introducing themselves and from which Northeastern state they belong to. “Contact us on our helpline number 1093,” said one member while another member said that they are available for help 24 hours a day.
Another member of the special unit said, “Today after having a healthy interaction here, we are more motivated towards our duty and feel free to contact us whenever the need arises.”

The members were invited by Karen to the newly renovated Dzukou Tribal Kitchen for lunch and during the meeting, the members shared about how the special unit works and what is their duty towards Northeastern people, especially about the safety of women.
Cheers to these team of young ladies who are doing a commendable job and next time if you face any trouble in the capital, you know where to call.
