Agartala, June 27: In a tragic and shocking incident, a 10-year-old boy was brutally killed by unidentified miscreants on Tuesday evening.
After killing the boy, who was a student of Class IV, the kidneys were allegedly taken away by the miscreants and the mutilated body was dumped in his locality.
The deceased has been identified as Purna Biswas.
The shocking incident took place at Bilerpar area under Bhumihin colony in Mohanpur on Tuesday late night.
As per reports, the minor boy was kidnapped in the morning hours. Though the family members intimated the police about the missing minor boy, the locals alleged that the police didn’t pay any heed.
On the other hand, the situation turned ugly when police reached the spot after the recovery of the body of the boy. The policemen were attacked with stones, bricks and lathis and beaten up by the enraged locals.
The angry mob even attacked a police vehicle leaving a few of the policemen injured. OC Sandip Sen and SI Pijush Biswas were seriously injured in the attack and are now undergoing treatment, as reported. As per reports, two policemen are missing following the attack.
Education minister Ratan Lal Nath met the family of the deceased and assured action against the miscreants. Nath informed the deceased’s family that the police have started investigating the matter.
On the other hand, two more incidences of crime have been reported on Tuesday in two different places in the state.
The first incident took place in Gilatali Nath Para under Kalyanpur police station of Khowai district where one Kanu Lal Debnath (55) has been accused of killing his wife Deepali Debnath (45) by hitting her with a sharp iron rod. The wife died on the spot and Debnath fled from the spot after committing the crime.
In the second incident, a body of one Subhas Ghosh (33) was recovered under mysterious circumstances in Kashipur under Bodhjung Nagar police station outskirts of Agartala.
