As the states gear up for the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 to be held on April 11th, 2019, polling teams across the different states of the Northeast region have reached their respective polling stations.

Polling teams, with all the necessary inputs required for the poll process including EVM and other items were seen marching towards their destinations on April 10th, 2019.

Administration and police personnel have also rolled up their sleeves to tighten the security security arrangements for a smooth conduct of the 17th General Elections.

A team of 1096 including presiding officers and polling officials has arrived in the 7 No. Tezpur Lok Sabha seat which has 220 polling stations. Special arrangements of 40 wheel chairs have been made for the differently-abled voters.

On the other hand, in Nagaon 3723 polling officials along with the 10 paramilitary forces and 3 Assam Battalion company strode towards their stations with all poll essentials from the Nagaon district election department for the 842 polling stations of Kaliabor Lok Sabha seat. Around 600 vehicles have been requisitioned for election duty. It may be mentioned here that 118 have been marked as critical polling stations of which 55 stations will be strictly monitored through live streaming and web casting.

In Lakhimpur also, polling teams on Wednesday set out on their journey towards 655 polling stations for the Lakhimpur parliamentary seat.
