Protesters vandalize BJP office in Kamrup’s Palashbari

Guwahati, January 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s office at Palashbari’s Uparhali in Kamrup district was vandalised by the activists of the Oikya Sena Asom on Thursday.

The activists also burnt the posters and banners hanged around the office protesting against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The protesters shouted slogans demanding withdrawal of the Bill.

The protesters also shouted slogans against BJP’s Palashbari legislator Pranab Kalita and demanded his resignation.

The effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal were also burnt by the activists as part of the protest.
