Guwahati, January 2: A weekly express train from Silghat in Nagaon district to Kolkata was flagged off by Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain on Tuesday.
The new train named 13182 Silghat-Kolkata Express will help in developing trade and commerce in Assam and will also improve communication with the rest of the country.
The train will start its journey on January 7 from Silghat at around 12.30 pm every Tuesday and it will reach Kolkata around 12.50 pm the next day. The train on its return journey will leave Kolkata on Monday at 9.05 am and will reach Silghat at around 9.55 am on Tuesday.

After flagging off the train, Gohain thanked the Northeast Frontier Railway for introducing a new train in the first day of the year 2019.
The train will make stops at Jakhalabandha, Nagaon, Amoni, Senchoa, Chaparmukh, Jagiroad, Guwahati, Kamakhya, Goalpara town, New Bongaigaon, Fakiragram, New Alipurduar, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Bolpur and Barddhaman.
