Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on March 3rd, 2019 handed over the appointment letter to martyred Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Maneshwar Basumatary’s daughter Didwm Shree Basumatary on the occasion of Basumatary’s aadyashraddha at Kolbari village in Tamulpur in Assam’s Baksa district. She has been appointed as an assistant tourism information officer in the Tourism department.

It may be recalled that Basumatary was one of the 44 CRPF jawans martyred in the deadly terror attack by the Jaish-e-Mohammed at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14th, 2019.

Sonowal on February 21st, 2019 had handed over the sanction letter of Rs 20 lakh to Sunmati Basumatary, wife of the 47-year-old head-constable of the CRPF-98 Battalion Maneshwar Basumatary.
