Kokrajhar, March 4, 2019
Assam Social Welfare Minister and veteran Bodoland People’s Front leader Pramila Rani Brahma on March 4th, 2019, while claiming that the BPF has full support in Kokrajhar constituency for the ensuing Lok Sabha election, said that the sitting MP Naba Kumar Sarania has lost his popularity. “Sarania is not a factor for the BPF as people have withdrawn support and moved towards the BPF,” she said.
Expressing confidence about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coming back to power, Brahma said, “Sarania did nothing for the development of the area and welfare of the people of the region in his tenure as MP. Hence, he lost his popularity.”
It may be mentioned that the BPF has already declared that it would field candidate only in Kokrajhar LS constituency.
“BPF will support its ally BJP in other Lok Sabha seats in Assam,” Brahma said. She further added that the party would announce the names of the candidates after the declaration of dates for the Lok Sabha elections.
