The Golaghat police on November 4th, 2019 detained two leopard smugglers from Bogijan area of Golaghat district.
The arrested persons have been identified as Subhit Tete and Aman Dhanua.

Superintendent of Police, Golaghat, Pushparaj Singh said, “Acting on a tip-off we launched a search operation and nabbed Subhit and Aman from Bokajan. We also found some leopard remains in Subhit’s residence and on interrogation, we came to know that he had handed over the leopard skin, jawbones and nails to his relative identified as Jiten Karketa who stays in Tezpur.”
“We immediately contacted our counterpart there and nabbed Jiten who is currently on his way to Golaghat. We will interrogate them once he reaches here and maybe we will manage to gather more information,” added Singh.
