Two-child policy doesn't apply to Muslims, says Badruddin Ajmal
Two-child policy doesn't apply to Muslims, says Badruddin Ajmal

Dhubri MP and president of All Indian United Democratic Front Badruddin Ajmal rejected the Assam’s government two-child policy for government jobs by saying that it doesn’t apply to Muslims and they can produce children as much as they want.

This statement of the perfume baron didn’t go well and it has created a hornet’s nest. “Islam doesn’t believe in the concept of having two children. No one can stop people who are bound to come to this world. The government is not giving Muslims jobs anyway. I would say my people to produce as many children they want, and educate them so that they can open businesses, shops and create job opportunities,” said Ajmal in an interview.

Soon after this statement, Twitter was left abuzz and many schooled him for ignoring the greater picture of population control which is the need of the hour.

Some also slammed him for using Islam for his own political gain.

The lawmaker also alleged the state government of forbidding Muslims from having government jobs.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on October 28th, 2019 stated that the two-child policy was not against any “particular community”. “The decision taken by the Assam government should be taken positively and it is not against a particular community,” said Tiwari and quoted by TimesNow.

It may be mentioned; on October 21st, 2019 the State Cabinet approved the two-child policy of having government jobs and those having more than two children will be ineligible for government jobs from January 1st, 2021.
