A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan hailing from Assam’s Lakhimpur district, who died due to heat stroke apparently after falling sick on June 12th, 2019 in Rajasthan, was laid to rest with full state honours.

The jawan identified as Ananta Boruah (40) was in the 31 Battalion of SSB and he was posted in Rajasthan since the year 2002. He was a resident of Rongpuria village in Lakhimpur district. The mortal remains of Boruah were brought to his native village on June 14th, 2019.

A pall of gloom has descended in the village. An SSB officer gave the sad news of Barua’s death to his family following which villagers have been flocking his home in the village.
