North Korea’s Kim Jong-un Resurfaces In Public Amid Health Rumours

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made his first public appearance in 20 days as he celebrated the completion of a fertilizer factory near Pyongyang

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who vanished from public view and was rumoured to be critically or even dead, resurfaced in public, North Korean state media reported.

Kim made his first public appearance in 20 days as he celebrated the completion of a fertilizer factory near Pyongyang.

The official Rodong Sinmun newspaper published several photos of Kim, dressed in back, smiling as he looked around the factory and cut a red ribbon.

His younger sister Kim Yo-jong was also present on the occasion. Thousands of workers stood in lines at the massive complex, releasing colourful balloons into the air.

Speculation about his health started doing the rounds after he missed the April 15th, 2020  birthday celebration for his late grandfather Kim Il Sung – the country’s most important holiday – for the first time since taking power in 2011.

36-year-old Kim is overweight and reportedly a heavy smoker, as per several reports. Kim has led North Korea since 2011, when his father, Kim Jong Il, died.
