Shillong, December 7:  The National People’s Party (NPP) on Thursday condemned the State Government’s recent decision to declare December 28 and 29 as working days.

NPP further stated that the decision of the Mukul Sangma led Congress Government for declaring these two days as working days was very insensitive.

Speaking before the media, NPP spokesperson, James K Sangma mentioned that Christmas and New Year is a time everyone in Meghalaya cherishes as it is a time meant for family and loved ones when people get together to celebrate Christmas.

Sangma also remarked CM Mukul Sangma as “callous and insensitive”, saying that people of the region are forced to work more to facilitate laying of more foundation stones by him in the region.

Meanwhile, NPP has also demanded that CM Sangma should immediately revoke the order allowing people in the region to spend time at home during the holy season.
