    NSCN IED Expert Killed In Arunachal Pradesh

    One AK series rifle with a huge quantity of ammunition and other warlike stores were recovered from the slain insurgent

    The Indian Army gunned down an IED expert of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Reformation) NSCN (R) after a gunfight in Shallang of Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh, officials said on December 2nd, 2019.

    The deceased has been identified as self-styled Major Akham Chang. He was the operational commander of NSCN (R) in Changlang district and was associated with the outfit for the last 19 years.

    One AK series rifle with a huge quantity of ammunition and other warlike stores were recovered from the slain insurgent, the officials said.

    The Army said that based on specific intelligence about the presence of armed cadres in the district, security forces launched a swift operation in the area.

    “During search operations, the troops came under fire from the cadres and in retaliatory fire, one insurgent was killed,” officials said.
