Guwahati: In a tragic incident at the Tengakhat oil field of Oil India Limited (OIL), an employee of Oil India (OIL) died while working at Kathalani Gas Compressor Station (GCS) on Thursday morning.

The deceased identified as Bikash Gogoi was residing at ‘A’ Type 357 residence in the Oil residential area of ​​Duliajan.

It is learned that the employee sustained serious injuries when he fell into the toilet at the work site.

The employee was rushed to Dibrugarh’s Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) for treatment but doctors pronounced him dead.

The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained but the incident has left a shadow of grief in the oil city of Duliajan.

Meanwhile, the body of the OIL employee was sent for an autopsy.
