Old age pension through DBT soon to be launched in Manipur


Kangpokpi, January 18: Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen on Thursday stated that once 100 percent Aadhaar linking are completed for all the beneficiaries, the 17 months Old Age Pension will be given to the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The DBT will be launched by the team from the Centre.

The Minister while talking about delivering the pension amount without delays further appealed to all the beneficiaries to get their Aadhaar works done at the concerned offices of the department.

The Minister was speaking on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Tuilang Block held at Gelnal Kimpao Ground, Kangpokpi District. As a part of this celebration, General Conference cum Sports Meet 2018 was also held.

She further informed about the Chief Minister Gi Shottharaba Singgi Tenbang, a welfare schemes for differently-abled persons, poor and needy people. Nemcha said such schemes are meant for all so deserving people should avail it through application forms available in the department as well as in all the Districts offices.

Minister Nemcha also highlighted on how the socio-economic conditions of the people in the state can be improved through the effective and proper implementation of cooperative movement in the state.

Lauding the KSO for organising the event, the MinisterĀ appealed all the civilians and student organizations to organize awareness programmes on various centrally and state sponsored schemes and projects.
