Guwahati: In a tragic incident, one person has been killed in a road mishap in Tamulpur area of Assam on Saturday.

A bus with students from a school in Barpeta was on its way to Bogamati in an educational tour when it hit a person trying to cross the road at Tamulpur.

The person died on spot. However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, the driver of the bus escaped from the site. Police seized the bus and took it to the Nagrijuli police station.

It is to be mentioned that 45 students and five teachers were travelling in the bus which met with the accident.
