In a joint operation conducted by the sleuths of state crime branch and the Geetanagar police, a person was arrested for running an online sex racket in the name of escort service in the city.
The accused Dilip Sahu(28) originally hails from the eastern state of Odisha. A case no 421 /19 has been registered against him at the Geetanagar PS under section 34 (ITP) , 67 (IT) Act.
The police informed that they received a tip-off about the racket being run in the city by the accused and started an operation. He was nabbed from a rented house in zoo tiniali.
Reports stated that the man provided services through a WhatsApp group to high profile clients. A similar complaint was registered against Sahu at the Chandmari Police Station earlier this year.
