Opening of the Kaziranga National Park for the tourists for the year 2019-20 has been postponed since the maintenance work at different parts of the park is still going on. The park, which is the United Nation’s Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation heritage site, was supposed to open for tourists on October 1st, 2019.
It may be mentioned that the ravaging flood hit the park severely leaving around 200 animals dead in 2019. Around 95 per cent of the park was submerged under the flood water.
The park authority has geared up the repair works of the park so that it can be opened for tourists as soon as possible.
