Agartala, December 5: Over hundred Police complaints were lodged against some people in the West Tripura district for presenting forged documents to enroll them in the voter’s list.
The Tripura West district has installed an online application named ‘Samadhan’ to receive complaints regarding people who are submitting fake documents to get their names in the electoral rolls or any other grievance related to the matter. The district administration of West Tripura is keen to conduct a clean electoral process.
West Tripura district has 768 polling stations and has a huge number of voter which increases the chances of people submitting forged documents to the administration.
According to Milind Ramteke, Magistrate of West District has said that all the matters related to enrollment and removal of duplicate voters etc will be completed before December 10 of this month.
Ramteke also said that they have rejected 1711 applications which consisted errors and more than 8, 000 applications are pending for verification. Under Form 7, a total of 1288 applications were discarded, 129 applications rejected under Form -8 and 53 rejected under Form 8A.
