Independence Day celebrations at Gohpur spoiled!

Guwahati: Over-night heavy rainfall played a spoilsport in the Independence Day parade at Parade Grounds leading to low turnout in Biswanath’s Gohpur on Monday.

According to reports, Gohpur town was confronted with unexpected torrential rains late on Sunday night, which continued into the wee hours of Monday morning. The rains caused much havoc on the streets, including heavy inundation.

It is known that the embankment of the Kukurajan River was breached in the midst of heavy rains, as a result of which water erupted in the city.
