    ‘Paatal Lok’ actor Asif Basra found dead in Himachal; suicide suspected

    While the cause of the death of the 53-year-old actor is not known yet, it is suspected to be a case of suicide.

    Guwahati: Asif Basra, who starred in web serried Paatal Lok and film Kai Po Che was found dead at his residence in McLeod Ganj in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.

    The 53-year-old actor was reportedly found hanging at his rented complex at Dharamshala. While the cause of the death is not known yet, it is suspected to be a case of suicide.

    A forensic team has reached the site and an investigation is underway.

    Asif Basra is a well known face in the entertainment industry. However, the one role which made him popular among the Hindi cinema audiences was that of Emran Hashmi’s cop father in the biggest hit of 2010, Once Upon A Time in Mumbai.

    Basra was also seen in late Sushant Singh Rajput’s film Kai Po Che. He was last seen in second season of Disney+ Hotstar series Hostages.

    The actor also starred as a senior executive in a media house in Amazon Prime’s Paatal Lok, which was released earlier this year. He has also been seen in films such as Jab We Met, Krrish 3, Ek Villain and many others.
