Paltan Bazar Murder Case: CJM court extends police custody of Mousumi Chakrabarty for three days
Guwahati: The police remand of the prime accused in the Paltan Bazar murder case Mousumi Chakrabarty (wife of deceased Narayan Chakrabarty) was extended for three more days on Saturday as city police wanted to quiz her more to find out any possible involvement of a ‘third person’ in the killing.
Police suspected that one more person was possibly involved in the killing of the priest Chakraborty. On Saturday, Mousumi was produced before the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) under Kamrup Metro district following the end of her 5-day long police custody.
On November 12, Narayan Chakraborty was allegedly murdered in a residential area at Kalibari Railway colony. Head injuries were found on his body too.
Subsequently, police arrested his wife and daughter in connection to the case.
Sources revealed that the accused daughter had claimed to have killed her father in connivance with her mother. She blamed the deceased priest for domestic violence upon her and her mother.
