Paresh Baruah demands cancellation of case against Hiren Gohain

Guwahati, January 10: The banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA)’s commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah on Thursday condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party-led State government for registering sedition case against prominent intellectual Dr Hiren Gohain and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) advisor Akhil Gogoi.

Baruah in a press communiqué demanded the government to drop the cases against duo immediately.

Baruah also condemned the government’s attempt to make the “democracy voiceless”.

A suo motu FIR was filed at Latashil police Station under Sections 120(B), 121, 123 and 124(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
