Patarkuchi MLA Pabindra Deka to quit AGP; most likely to join AJP

Pabindra Deka said that the regional party has strayed away from its responsibilities and have hurt the sentiments of the people of Assam.

Guwahati: Paratkuchi MLA Pabidra Deka will resign from Asom Gana Parisad (AGP) and will most likely join Assam Jatiya Parisad (AJP) on Wednesday.

Speaking to media, Deka said that the regional party has strayed away from its responsibilities and have hurt the sentiments of the people of Assam.

The MLA further said that he wants to serve the people of the state and remaining in the party he won’t be able to fulfil his wishes.

Meanwhile, former AASU leader Lurinjyoti Gogoi will also be joining AJP formally at the Sivasagar convention.
